RADNOR – An arrest warrant has been issued for the former guidance counselor who allegedly had sex with a 16-year-old student and supplied alcohol to others at the Valley Forge Military Academy last month.

Symantha Hicks, 30, is expected to surrender to authorities on Thursday to face charges of unlawful contact with a minor, furnishing liquor or malt beverages to minors and corruption of minors, according to police.

The 30-year-old guidance counselor was suspended from her position last month after allegations of inappropriate contact were brought to the attention of school officials.

Late this morning, Radnor Police issued a press release stating that based on their investigation, a warrant had been issued for Hicks’ arrest.

According to authorities, Hicks allegedly performed oral sex on a 16-year-old cadet and provided alcohol to two 17-year-olds. Court records indicate that the incident took place on Dec. 4.

“She is well-credentialed individual who made a mistake and accepts responsibility for her mistakes,” said Philadelphia attorney Richard Hark, who is representing Hicks.

“Ms. Hicks is voluntarily surrendering, and we will be resolving the matter with the Delaware County District’s Attorney’s Office through a waiver of the preliminary hearing,” said Philadelphia Attorney Richard Hark. “She is regretful of the circumstances and is no longer working for the school and understands that this will affect her ability to be a teacher in the future.”

Hark said he anticipates a bail agreement based on Hicks accepting responsibility for her actions.

The arrest warrant, obtained by Radnor police on Tuesday, charges Hicks with one count of unlawful contact with a minor – sexual offenses, 110 counts of corruption of minors and 10 counts of selling or furnishing liquor or malt beverages to minors
