Hospital emergency rooms are full of drama. Parents are worried about their children suffering from the flu. Husbands and wives enter worried about a loved one in a car accident or drug over dose. Weekend warriors seek emergent treatment for injuries from recreational activities. The smattering of car accidents, long-delayed treatment for numerous chronic conditions, and work place injuries keep emergency rooms across the country busy every day, all day long.
My clients are ER doctors, hospital pharmacists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, LPNs, RNs and CNAs. What these hard working professionals do not need, and can’t afford, is a deranged gunmen being able to enter an Emergency Room and start shooting people. This is very crazy. Hospital safety need to be increased and prioritized.
