ER health care providers’ payroll delayed

WOW….. “East Ohio Regional Hospital, a 140-bed facility in Martins Ferry, has notified employees that their pay would be delayed.”   Dr. Johnson also told employees the message comes after “exhausting all possibilities for immediate release of funding” on March 7, and that he hopes paychecks will be provided to workers on March 11. He expressed gratitude for staff and emphasized that “the delay in funding is not an indication of the EORH closing.”

Expressions of gratitude do not pay the rent.  Expressions of gratitude do not put food on the table.  This is crazy.  A client of mine said his work place switched payroll services and the pay checks were messed up for two weeks.  This is inexcusable in times of emergency room shootings, people crashing their cars into the hospitals, and police handcuffing defendants to a gurney and the nurses are expected to provide care.

Health care work is hard enough.  Lifting injuries, infectious diseases, co-worker personality disputes, child care issues, spousal issues, and alcohol and medical marijuana abuse make going to work in health care really hard.  https://www.phila-criminal-lawyer.com/mental-and-physical-evaluation/pennsylvania-s-disciplinary-environment/
